IMAGINE Farm Aligns With Wild Ones’ Mission

At Wild Ones Capital Region NY, we’re happy to see organizations pop up locally with the goal of getting more native plants into the ground. Our chapter — like 100 other Wild Ones chapters in 36 states — is an all volunteer-led and volunteer-run affiliate of the national nonprofit.

In the Capital Region, we have local businesses and locally based nonprofits that share the Wild Ones vision. One of those projects is IMAGINE Native Plant Farm, an initiative of the nonprofit Home Earth Alliance.

IMAGINE Native Plant Farm specializes in growing straight native species from wild seed responsibly collected in the ecoregions that comprise the greater Capital Region.

The farm carries close to 50 species seasonally for retail or wholesale. The farm’s mission is to get as many native plants into the ground as possible to support biodiversity, mitigate climate change and promote environmental justice. Wild seeds ethically collected from — and native plants lovingly grown for — this ecoregion.

The farm is located at 71 Retreat House Road, Glenmont, NY. It’s open Thursday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or by appointment. Call 518-577-6068 for information.
