“The Healing Garden” On almost 3 acres, two thirds of which is federal woodlands, Nancy W. has planted a mix of native and non-native perennials, shrubs and trees, an extensive vegetable garden, as well as woodland medicinal herbs. She has no meadow, but has many trees, perennials, self-seeding annuals and ground covers. The only grass is walkways. She forages garlic mustard, water cress, stinging nettle, lambs quarters, amaranth, and dandelions.
