Wetlands, Meadows, and Woods oh my!: Matt has a bachelor's degree in environmental science and a masters in environmental studies with a background in ecology and urban agriculture. He first fell in love with native-focused gardening while living in California 5 years ago.
He moved to his suburban home in Wynantskill a year and a half ago next to a powerline corridor where he has begun to remove invasive species, plant natives, and develop habitat by reducing lawn mowing, building hedges, and digging out a large wetland. The yard currently consists of a half acre meadow, a half acre of woods, about a half acre of mowed lawn and landscaped flower beds, and a small vegetable garden. The yard is a work in progress, so stop by and help Matt dream up his native plant paradise!!
