My Attempt to Create a Pollinator Palace  Joe uses a naturalistic gardening style and native plants to help with biodiversity and attract and support native wildlife, looking for mixes of full sun to shade, tall grasses, flowers, and shrubs and low ground cover, to provide opportunities for different types of insects, birds, and pollinators to thrive. Delmar, NY  Open 10AM -12PM

“Bethlehem Town Hall Beneficial Pollinator Garden”  Judith and DonnaLee, two avid gardeners, will be present to show you a newly rejuvenated garden and to answer questions about the use of native plants and cultivars. This garden is a collaborative effort of many volunteers from different groups. Open: Delmar,  11AM -1PM

SACRED SOIL GARDENS: Gardens in Evolution  WOCRNY VP Genoveffa has learned the impact that native plants have on our local ecology and has replaced much of her lawn with multiple planting of native trees, bushes, perennial beds and vines, as well as, maintaining her Sicilian roots by growing vegetables and caring for them by creating her own inoculants and mushroom compost. Open: Selkirk 12-3PM.

The Bioreserve Tour Ecologist Zach, invites us to join him for a tour of the Old-growth Forest, at the biological field reserve (68 acres of old fields, forested lands, ponds, small streams, a network of trails, and a modest lab) used for education and research programs that enhance a greater understanding of the natural systems supporting all living things.  Glenmont, NY  Open from 4-7 PM
